The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Mid-Atlantic Chapter, annually recognizes outstanding achievements in television and related fields by presenting Emmy® Awards in the Chapter’s designated region. The presentation of the awards is intended to serve as an incentive for the ongoing pursuit of excellence for those working in the television industry and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment and news achievements in television. All Emmy® entries are judged outside the region by panels of peer professionals working in comparable television markets across the country.
