NATAS ANNOUNCES 2011 BOARD OF GOVERNORS AWARD RECIPIENT
May 2011 (Philadelphia)- The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Mid-Atlantic Chapter announced today that Pittsburgh broadcasting legend Patrice King Brown will receive the prestigious Board of Governors’ Award.

Brown, a Pittsburgh TV News Anchor, who worked a remarkable three decades at KDKA-TV will be honored during the 29th Annual Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Awards at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel on Saturday, September 24, 2011. For the full release, click here.

NATAS Mid-Atlantic elects new officers and Governors

Philadelphia, PA (July 1, 2008) - The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) elected new officers and chapter leaders and announced the election of new membersto its Board of Governors, all of whom begin their terms in July 2008. Read about the election.

NATAS Mid-Atlantic Announces NBC10's Edie Huggins as the 2008 Board of Governors Award Recipient

PHILADELPHIA (May 21, 2008) – Pioneering broadcast journalist Edie Huggins, who began her television career at WCAU-TV (now NBC10) in 1966 as a feature reporter on the BIG NEWS TEAM WITH JOHN FACENDA and became one of Philadelphia’s most respected and popular television personalities during her 42-year career, will receive the prestigious Board of Governors’ Award from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).  For the full release, click here.

Emmy® Awards News

NATAS Mid-Atlantic received over 700 entries for the 2008 Mid-Atlantic EMMY Awards. Entries are being sorted and prepared for shipping across the country for judging. Judging will take place through July. The accountants at Lutz & Travers, LLC. will receive and talley the results to be announced at the Nomination Parties in August. The Awards will be presented September 13 in Philadelphia at the Philadelphia Marriott. Good luck to all entrants!

Scholarship News

YOUNG PRODUCERS AWARD: Robert Greenberg, a senior at Harriton High School in Rosemont, PA, is the 2008 winner of the Young Producer’s Award scholarship competition of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Academy (NATAS).  Greenberg will receive a $2500 scholarship check from NATAS. Jessica Do, of North Penn High School, is the runner-up. Jessica receives $500. For the full release, click here.

NATIONAL STUDENT TELEVISION: Congratulations to our regional NSTV winners. We had seven regional winners and 11 honorable mention awards. A special congratulations to the Milton Hershey School for the National win. We also send a special thank you to Kim Newell at CITV at Plymouth Whitemarsh H.S. for her dedication and time spent in planning the student seminar held May 2.
